When my son first started school we decided we needed an exciting way of getting him up going each morning. As a Prop builder I was sure I could find the answer. As a 5 year old whats more exciting than having R2-D2 wake you up each school day.
The base clock actually has a mini SD card that you can drop audio files on that it will cycle through as its alarm. The wonderful world of the internet has plenty of R2 sounds available. The clock also has built in blue-tooth, two external USB ports as well as a temperature readout .
The top button is both a button press for snoozing the clock as well as a turn dial for setting the time and alarm functions. Attached to this is a children’s bubble bath container. It just happened to be the prefect fit for the dial. This top required a little move detailed painting and weathering.
The clock itself was lightly sanded and re-painted white. By masking areas of the clock allowed for black and blue paint to give it the panel markings the Star Wars universe is well known for.
